First Winners for Grand Slam, Ordway

Grade I winner Grand Slam and Ordway were represented by their first winners June 2. Grand Slam's daughter, Big Score, won at Churchill Downs in her first start. Bred by Woodlyn Farm, Big Score won by six lengths in :51.18 for 4 1/2 furlongs for owner Grunwald Racing. Grand Slam (Gone West--Bright Candles, by El Gran Senor) stands at John Magnier and partners' Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky.
Ordway's first winner, Ger, won at River Downs in his initial start. Bred by Paulee Thoroughbreds, Ger scored by 4 1/4 lengths in 1:00.40 for five furlongs for owner William Dorminy. Ordway (Salt Lake--Priceless Countess, by Vaguely Noble) stands at the Hancock family's Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky.
