Rebelline earned her third straight victory while turning the tables on the 1-2 finishers in her most recent defeat, winning Sunday's Tattersalls Gold Cup (Ire-I) by two lengths over Bach at The Curragh. Nayef, winner of last year's Dubai Champion Stakes (Eng-I) in which Rebelline finished eighth, came home 2 1/2 lengths farther back in third, with Champion Stakes runner-up Tobougg fifth of eight runners.
Chryss O'Reilly's Rebelline began her current streak by handing Johannesburg his first career defeat in the seven-furlong Gladness Stakes (Ire-III) in April. The 4-year-old filly then stretched out successfully in the 1 1/4-mile Mooresbridge Stakes earlier this month. As a 3-year-old, the Kevin Prendergast-trained daughter of Robellino won the Pretty Polly Stakes (Ire-II) and the Leopardstown One Thousand Guineas Trial. Sunday's win, her first in a group I race, improves her career mark to six wins from 11 starts.
On soft ground, Rebelline completed the 10 1/2 furlongs in 2:22.2 under Declan McDonogh.
"She's a giant-killer," Prendergast told Racing Post. "She loves this ground, but we will give her a break and come back with a new plan."
