Met Mile Contenders Work

Left Bank and Affirmed Success, the two highweights for Monday's Memorial Day feature, the $750,000 Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I) for 3-year-olds and up, put in their works this morning at Belmont Park.
Michael Tabor's Left Bank worked five furlongs in 1:00 2/5, breezing on the fast main track for trainer Todd Pletcher. A five-year-old son of French Deputy, Left bank won the grade I Cigar Mile at Aqueduct last fall. In his seasonal bow, he won the grade III Bold Ruler at Belmont.
Albert Fried Jr.'s Affirmed Success continues to be one of New York's great success stories. The 8-year-old son of 1978 Triple Crown winner Affirmed - racing's 11th and last Triple Crown winner - Affirmed Success worked five furlongs in a bullet :59 4/5, breezing for trainer Richard Schosberg.
Also expected for the Met Mile are: Aldebaran (115); Burning Roma (116); Crafty C.T. (115); D'wildcat (115); E Dubai (116); Grey Memo (116); Redattore (116); Voodoo (113) and Wake At Noon (116). Questionable is Swept Overboard (117).
