Syndicated Claiborne Farm stallion Unbridled, who was taken to Hagyard-Davidson-McGee veterinary clinic near Lexington on Sept. 3 after suffering a mild case of colic, returned to Claiborne this morning.

"He returned to Claiborne Farm this morning (Sept. 11) in excellent condition," said Claiborne assistant farm manager Gus Koch. "He was bright and alert and we're very glad to have him back. We received a good prognosis from the vet on his liver condition and the vets will continue to monitor his condition here at the farm."

The 13-year-old stallion was examined last week at the clinic by Drs. Doug Byars and Kim Sprayberry, who found that the Mr. Prospector grandson suffered from a thickening of the large colon wall and there was a significant blockage of bile from the bile duct.

Unbridled (Fappiano -- Gana Facil, by Le Fabuleux) is represented this year by nine stakes winners, including Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner Red Bullet and Travers Stakes (gr. I) victor Unshaded.
