Seven Other Stakes on Preakness Day Card

The Preakness (gr. I) may be the highlight Saturday of Maryland's biggest annual day of racing, but there are seven other races on the card including four graded stakes.

The Preakness is the 12th race on the 13-race Pimlico card, with first post time at 10:30 a.m. the Preakness, the second leg of the Triple Crown, has a 6:09 p.m. post.

Serazzo is the 122-pound highweight in a field of nine set to run in the day's grade II event, the $200,000 Dixie Stakes at nine furlongs on the turf for 3-year-olds and up. The topweights in the day's three grade III stakes are: Ground Storm (119) in the $100,000 William Donald Schaefer Handicap, run over nine furlongs on dirt, 3-year-olds and up; Snow Ridge (120) in the $200,000 Maryland Breeders' Cup Handicap, a six-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds and up; and Step With Style and Watch (115) in the $125,000 Gallorette Handicap, run over 8 1/2 furlongs on turf for fillies and mares age three and older.
