Millionaire Coronado's Quest was represented by his first winner when his daughter La Violette won May 15 at Belmont Park in her first start. Bred by Gallagher's Stud, La Violette won at five furlongs in :59.29 for Gainesway Stable.
Syndicated Coronado's Quest (Forty Niner--Laughing Look, by Damascus) stands at the Hancock family's Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky. He captured eight stakes, including the Travers (gr. I).
