High Winds Shut Down Woodbine Racing

Extremely high winds and strong gusts forced Woodbine to cancel the remainder of Friday's card the second race.

The decision to cancel was made by the Woodbine jockeys and track management after the day's second race. Winds in the greater Toronto area are blowing from the west at 52 km/h with gusts up to 70 km/h, according to Environment Canada.

Live thoroughbred racing is expected to resume on Saturday afternoon with first race post time set for 12:55 p.m.
