Caller One, Western Pride Set for Singapore
Two North American-based horses, and one jockey, will compete Saturday in the international stakes races in Singapore.Caller One will have Gary Stevens up when he breaks from post seven in the six-furlong Singapore Airlines Sprint. Caller One's obstacle will not be the distance, but the fact the race is on turf. Still, he is the 7-4 morning line favorite in the field of 12.In the big race on the card, the Singapore Airlines International Cup, Western Pride drew the rail in the 10-furlong turf race. He is 16-1 in the morning line among the field of 14. The 7-2 favorite is Grandera.Western Pride will be ridden by Frederic Sanchez, with Stevens electing to ride Hawkeye for owner Gary Tanaka and trainer Michael Jarvis.Both Western Pride and Caller One are owned by Carolyn Chapman and Theresa McArthur and trained by James Chapman.
