Online wagering company America Tab has gained access to many of the country's premier racetracks by entering into a patent and content licensing agreement with the TV Games Network.
TVG, a 24-hour horse racing channel and in-home wagering service, entered into the agreement to accelerate revenue growth for itself and its racetrack partners.
"Along with the Youbet.com agreement that we completed last year, this is another example of the open licensure model for the account wagering that TVG has advocated for some time," said TVG president and chief executive officer Mark Wilson. "The model maximizes the deployment of our television network and our track partnersê content in a way that provides fair and secure revenue streams."
The agreement allows America TAB to use automated telephone and computer-based wagering systems that are compatible with TVG's patented technology, and accept interactive wagers on races from TVG's exclusive partner tracks including Churchill Downs and its family of five other tracks, Lone Star Park, Belmont Park, Aqueduct, and Saratoga.
"This relationship is in the best interest of horse racing," said Charles Ruma, president and chief executive officer of America Tab. "We applaud TVG's efforts to grow the market for horse racing through television, distribution, and technology and are pleased that the two companies can complement each other in these efforts."
