Ralph Evans' grade II winner March Magic was retired from racing because of nagging injuries and bred April 26 to Unbridled's Song. The 5-year-old mare (Evansville Slew--Bay Magic, by Ack Ack) won six of her 22 starts and earned a career total of $638,290 while trained by Richard Violette Jr.
Bred by W.R. Stoops, March Magic scored her major win in the 2001 Molly Pitcher Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II). She also won that year's Poinciana Breeders' Cup Handicap and defeated grade I winner Jostle in taking the 2000 Comely Stakes (gr. III).
