Red Ransom Filly Tops Australia Sale

Vinery Australia consigned the sale-topping bay filly by Red Ransom at the annual Australian select weanling sale in Sydney on May 3. From champion South African filly Tracy's Element was purchased at $300,000 (Australian funds) by Gerry Harvey, a leading electrical goods retailer and co-Magic Millions principal. Harvey also owns Baramul Stud.

A winner of two group Is and named South Africa's champion filly at two and four, Tracy's Element is the Last Tycoon sibling of Danasinga, a first crop group I winner for Danehill. Both are from prolific Ahonoora mare Princess Tracy.

Dearest colt at the weanling sale was the first generation Fasliyev from Joann's Reality at $110,000. a first crop Real Quiet colt bought half that figure.

From a total of 269 head through the Newmarket ring, 187 traded for more than $3.4 million at an average of $18,585 The overall median was $10,000. The 86 fillies finished with an average of $19,052 but a $9,000 median, while the male average of $18,187 was attended by a $12,000 median.
