Field of 10 Fillies and Mares Entered in Edgewood

A field of 10 fillies and mares were entered for Friday's $100,000 Edgewood Stakes, the newest edition to the Kentucky Derby week stakes lineup. The one-mile turf contest was contested later in the spring meeting in previous years.
Headlining the field is Cellars Shiraz who brings her three-race win streak north from Florida in her Churchill Downs debut. Trained by former National Football League performer, William Cesare, Cellars Shiraz scored her biggest career win in the Feb. 3 Herecomesthebride Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Gulfstream Park.
