The Maryland Jockey Club will offer guaranteed minimum gross pools on its popular Pick 4 on Black-Eyed Susan and Preakness Days, May 17-18. The progressive wager encompasses races four through seven and nine through 12 on each card with a low 14% takeout.

Preakness Day will feature $700,000 in guarantees, including a half-million dollars on the Preakness Pick 4, while Black-Eyed Susan Day will have guarantees of $50,000 (early) and $100,000 (late).

"Our Pick 4s were a huge success a year ago, so as a result we decided to double our guarantees" said Lou Raffetto, chief operating officer of the Maryland Jockey Club. "The addition of two turf stakes races, the Woodlawn and Gallorette, to the Preakness Day menu should make for intriguing Pick 4 possibilities."
