Carl Schloessman will assume the role of vice president of marketing and sales at Arlington Park. In his new role, Schloessman will be an integral member of Arlington Park's senior management team. His responsibilities include the oversight of Arlington's marketing, promotions, group sales, sponsorship sales and communications departments. Schloessman was selected after a three-month national search due to his proven record in strategic marketing, promotion and advertising development and implementation abilities. "The addition of Carl reinforces our commitment to marketing Thoroughbred racing in the competitive Chicago market, especially with the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships coming to our venue on Saturday, October 26," said Arlington president Steve Sexton...WinStar Farm has created the Victory Gallop name game contest. Contestants have the chance to name a chestnut colt by Victory Gallop out of Lady of The Lake. The acreage was donated by Doris Wear and her family and will be named Greener Pastures. It will be managed by a TCA-appointed board of directors. According to a release, "the focus of Greener Pastures will be to encourage and help facilitate adoptions in part by offering a cash incentive.
