Santa Anita Derby winner Came Home, a top Kentucky Derby contender, will leave Friday for Churchill Downs.

"He's doing very good," trainer Paco Gonzalez said Thursday. "He had his regular gallop today, then came back and cleaned up all his feed. Everything."

Gonzalez said he plans to work out the 3-year-old colt Wednesday at Churchill Downs, depending on the weather.

"This is a very important work coming up," the conditioner said.

Easy Grades, runner-up to Came Home in the Santa Anita Derby, arrived at Churchill Downs on Sunday. He will work out Monday, trainer Ted H. West said.

"It's nice to get that part of it over with," said West, referring to the travel. "They don't always have to ship well."
