Evansville Slew Filly Leads Way In OBS April Under Tack Show

An Evansville Slew filly breezed the fastest eighth of a mile Wednesday during the first under tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s April juvenile auction. She covered the distance in :10 1/5. The filly was produced from the unraced Raise a Cup mare Ching Ching and is a half-sister to stakes winner Royal Ching (by Royal Roberto). Consigned by Solitary Oak, agent, she was purchased by Don Jones for $32,000 at the 2001 Keeneland September yearling sale.A Stormy Atlantic colt was the fastest worker at a quarter mile, stopping the clock in :21 1/5. His dam is the winning Green Forest mare Cook's Forest, who is a half-sister to goup stakes-placed Robellation (in England) and Basualdo (in Germany). The colt has not been offered at public auction previously. He was bred in Florida by Freddie Hyatt.A World Stage--Alycasca colt and a Fortunate Prospect--Amavalidhope filly named Hope for Love shared the fastest clocking for three furlongs, both coverin the distance in :33 2/5. The World Stage colt is consigned by Paul Sharp, agent. Hope for Love is consigned by Farnsworth Farms, agent.A Banker's Gold Carolita filly broke down and was euthanized.Under tack shows also are scheduled this week for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. (EDT) each day. The sale will be conducted on April 22-25, with sessions beginning at 10 a.m. (EDT) each day.
