Tattersalls' Breeze-Up Sale and EquineSpectrum's online Mixed Sale both start Wednesday. In Florida, the day marks the first under tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training. That auction commences on April 22.
Tattersalls has catalogued 178 2-year-olds, many of which have been through the auction ring before. The number is the smallest since 1993, but officials report the quality is excellent. Among the standouts are one colt and one filly by Sadler's Wells.
The EquineSpectrum auction includes broodmares, 2-year-olds, and two stallion seasons. One standout is a 2-year-old half-sister to Kentucky Derby (gr. I) hopeful Harlan's Holiday.
The OBS sale has 1,210 horses catalogued. Workouts will be videotaped and available on the sale grounds, and times will be available online about one hour after the works at http://www.obssales.com/.
