Irish Stallion Distant Music to Australia

Group I winner Distant Music, who entered stud this year at Morristown Lattin Stud in Ireland, will stand the Southern Hemisphere season at the Woodard family's Yallambee Stud in Australia. The deal was arranged between Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms and the partnership of Yallambee and Robert Crabtree of Dorrington Breeding. Juddmonte bred and raced Distant Music. His fee will be $16,500, including GST and a free return. By arrangement with Juddmonte, Distant Music will cover a maximum book of 100 mares for the 2002 Australian breeding season.

Five-year-old Distant Music, whose sire, Distant View, stands at Juddmonte near Lexington, won five of 14 starts and earned $518,921. He was produced from the Nijinsky II mare Musicanti.
