A Fayette (County, Ky.) circuit judge late Thursday issued a summary judgment in a four-year-old libel suit filed by Cecil Seaman against newsletter publisher Edward Musselman.

Judge Laurence Van Meter dismissed Seaman's suit, which involved two different stories that appeared in Musselman's racing publication, Indian Charlie.

The two stories were printed in issues dated Nov. 13, 1997 and Sept. 14, 1999. Seaman, a Lexington-based bloodstock agent, claimed in his suit the two articles defamed him.

A jury trial was scheduled to begin in Lexington on April 17.
