First Winner for Distorted Humor

First crop sire Distorted Humor was represented by his first winner as a sire when his first starter, Awesome Humor, went wire-to-wire to earn a neck-length win in a 4 1/2-furlong maiden race at Keeneland Thursday. Tom Durant's Ronny Werner trainee stopped the timer at :51.55.
A son of Forty Niner out of the Danzig mare Danzig's Beauty, Distorted Humor won eight of 23 career races, including the 1998 Commonwealth Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. II) on the Keeneland oval. He set a course record when winning the 1998 Churchill Downs Handicap (gr. II), and also won the Ack Ack (gr. III) and Salvator Mile (gr. III) Handicaps. He was bred in Kentucky by Charles Nuckols Jr. & Sons and stands at WinStar Farm for a fee of $10,000.
Awesome Humor earned $31,225 for the win, which was completed on a fast track and under jockey Robby Albarado. Awesome Humor was produced from the Pass the Tab mare Horns Gray. She was bred by Dr. Naveed Chowhan.
