Grosser Preis Von Baden (Ger-I) winning first-crop sire Morshdi is experiencing fertility problems. Aziz Merza -- racing manager for Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in whose colors Morshdi raced -- confirmed to Racing Post that the 4-year-old stallion suffers from a low fertility count.

"I can confirm he has a problem, although I do not know the extent of it," Merza told the paper.

Morshdi stands at Gestut Friedrichsruh Stud in Germany, the country which witnessed his final career race in last September's Grosser Preis Von Baden. The son of Slip Anchor--Reem Albaraari, by Sadler's Wells, also won the Italian Derby (Ity-I) last May before finishing second to Galileo in the Irish Derby (Ire-I). Three weeks after his runner-up performance at the Curragh he was a well beaten eighth in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes (Eng-I) won by Galileo. He won three of eight career races for earnings of just over $1 million.
