Keeneland Sale Horses Display Speed in Workouts

Speed was in abundance at Keeneland Racecourse on Monday, but it had nothing to do with the current race meet underway at the Lexington, Ky. track. A dark day in which there was no live racing, Monday was devoted to workouts by juveniles consigned to the April 16 sale of 2-year-olds in training.

Two of the youngsters--a Boston Harbor filly and an Unbridled's Song colt--shared the best time of :10 flat for an eighth of a mile. A Grand Slam filly posted the fastest quarter-mile workout time of :20 4/5.

The Boston Harbor filly, named Sherunstheharbor and consigned by Donna Wormser as Hip No. 48, is a half-sister to graded stakes-placed Sun Cat. The Unbridled's Song colt is Hip No. 97, consigned by Robert N. Scanlon. The Grand Slam filly who had the fastest quarter-mile time is a half-sister to graded placed Gygistar and is consigned by Niall Brennan.
