A. P. Indy Filly Takes Prix Imprudence

Following in the footsteps of her mother, Kentucky-bred Glia posted a neck victory Monday in the Prix Imprudence at Maisons-Laffitte, France. The winner completed the seven furlongs over the straight course in 1:27.3. Dedication, a French-bred Highest Honor filly finished second, followed by Zizoune, a daughter of Kadrou also bred in France.

Glia, a 3-year-old daughter of A. P. Indy, was produced from the Mr. Prospector mare Coup de Genie, a group I winner in France who won the Prix Imprudence in 1994.

A Niarchos Family homebred trained by Pascal Bary, Glia has two victories, a second in the Prix Miesque (Fr-III), and one third in four career starts.

In another foreign race, U. S.-breds swept the top three finish positions in Saturday's New Zealand Trophy (Jpn-II) for 3-year-olds at Nakayama, Japan. The winner was Taiki Lion, a 3-year-old son of Wild Again--Patently Clear (by Miswaki). He was followed by the filly Saga Novel (by Boundary) and Major Café (Gone West).

Taiki Lion, who ran the mile on turf in 1:32.1, has won three of four starts and has converted earnings of $542,121. Trained by Kiyotaka Tanaka, the colt is a homebred racing for Taiki Farm.
