Despite losing Rebel Stakes (gr. III) runner-up Ocean Sound to the Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I), 12 runners are still expected for the April 13 Arkansas Derby (gr. II) at Oaklawn Park with the addition of Gold Dollar to the likely field of runners.

Gold Dollar is trained by D. Wayne Lukas for Overbrook Farm. Lukas won successive renewals of the 1 1/8-mile Kentucky Derby prep with Althea and Tank's Prospect.

Gold Dollar finished fourth in his most recent start, the Lane's End Spiral Stakes (gr. II) at Turfway Park. The bay son of Seattle Slew finished fifth in Repent's Kentucky Jockey Club (gr. II) as a juvenile after a third-place finish in Harlan's Holiday's Iroquois (gr. III). He also finished third to Repent in the Kentucky Cup Juvenile (gr. III).

In 12 career starts, Gold Dollar has earned one win, a half-length victory over Monthir in a seven-furlong maiden race at Saratoga last August.

Jose Santos will guide Gold Dollar in the Arkansas Derby.

Others expected for the race are Windward Passage, Bay Monster, Wild Horses, Private Emblem, Mr. Mellon, Like A Hero, It'sallinthechase, Holdthehelm, Dial A Hero, Guppie's Secret, and Dusty Spike.
