Johannesburg Drifts Slightly, Still Favored in Future Wager

Johannesburg remains favored in pool three of the Kentucky Derby future wager despite drifting up to 5-1 at the close of Friday's wagering after beginning the day at 4-1. The undefeated Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) winner will race Sunday in the seven-furlong Gladness Stakes at the Curragh in Ireland.
Harlan's Holiday at 8-1 is second in the wagering, followed closely by Saarland and Repent, who are both available at 9-1. Medaglia d'Oro (11-1), Came Home (13-1), and the mutuel field (13-1) consisting of all 3-year-olds not among the 23 individual betting interests.
Handle through day two of the four-day wagering event is up to $95,121. Wagering resumes Saturday at noon (EST). The pool will close Sunday at 5:30 p.m. (EDT).
