Tattersalls has appointed Kentucky based bloodstock agent Lincoln Collins as a representative in North America. Collins, who is the president of the Lexington agency Kern Thoroughbreds, will act as a consultant for the Newmarket, England-based sales company with overall responsibility for Tattersalls yearling inspections throughout North America beginning later this month. Longtime Tattersalls North American representative Linda Conley will continue to handle all administrative responsibilities and catalogue requests.
"North America is a hugely important market for Tattersalls and Lincoln will perfectly enhance the first class service that Linda Conley already provides for our North American clients," said Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony in a prepared statement. "He has established Kern Thoroughbreds as an internationally respected bloodstock agency in association with Lillingston Bloodstock, and is as well-known in Europe as he is in North America, which is the perfect combination for Tattersalls' requirements."
Said Collins: "Tattersalls is Europe's premier sales company with a strong profile in North America not only as a source of top class racehorses but also as the best European market in which to sell, and I am looking forward to assisting with yearling selection. I have been a regular buyer at Tattersalls over the past decade, and the experience will undoubtedly be beneficial in assessing yearlings for either the Tattersalls Houghton or October yearling sales."
A native of England, Collins has lived in America for 20 years.
