Harlan's Holiday Bags Two Awards in Ohio

Harlan's Holiday, the Florida Derby winner who is headed to the April 13 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes on the road to the May 4 Kentucky Derby, was named Ohio Horse of the Year and top 2-year-old colt for 2001. The colt was bred by Double D Farm and is owned by Starlight Stables and Jack and Laurie Wolf.
Owner of the year was Theresa McArthur Obrecht, who co-owns multiple group or grade I winner Caller One, and multiple graded-stakes winner Western Pride. She and her husband, Rolf Obrecht, live near Cincinnati, Ohio.

Joanie's Bella (owned by Dan Martin and Jerry Ayres): 2-year-old filly
Unbridled Time (Bob and Beverly Lewis): 3-year-old colt
Ashwood CC (Ashwood Thoroughbred): 3-year-old filly
Majestic Dinner (Pyrite Stables): handicap horse
Lady Cherie (MY Stables): handicap mare
John Q's Winner (Frank Regalbuto and John Quagliata) and Down thepike Mike (MY Stables): sprint champion (tie)
Skilaunch (Scioto Farm Supply): broodmare
Mercer Mill (Fair Winds Farm): stallion
Turkowar (Dr. Ted Classen): accredited male
Beatmichiganagain (Larry Smallwood and Swifty Farms): accredited female
The awards were presented March 30 in Columbus, Ohio, by the Ohio Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners.
