Add two more names to the list of Triple Crown nominees. The connections of recent winners Puzzlement and One Tuff Box both paid the necessary $6,000 to make their horses eligible to the May 4 Kentucky Derby (gr. I), May 18 Preakness (gr. I), and June 8 Belmont Stakes (gr. I).

The first deadline for entries was Jan. 19, when 405 horses were nominated for $600 each. Another 10 were announced by Triple Crown Productions as having been nominated by the second deadline, midnight March 30.

With the New York Racing Association's racing office closed for two days because of the Easter holiday, the nominations for Puzzlement and One Tuff Box were not found until Tuesday morning (April 2).

Puzzlement is a homebred for Joseph Shields Jr., trained by Allen Jerkens. He has won one of three starts, a maiden race at Gulfstream on March 30.

One Tuff Fox is a homebred for Italo-Erin Stables. He has won two of three starts for trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. He won an allowance race at Fair Grounds March 4.
