David Hutson, who one year ago announced his Silverleaf Farm was on the market, will sell the 635-acre Thoroughbred farm at auction on Oct. 14. Hutson has employed J.P. King Auction Company to handle the sale, which will take place at the farm near Orange Lake, Fla.

The current Silverleaf is less than two years old. Hutson sold Silverleaf Farm near Ocala to Satish Sanan in April 1998 for more than $7 million. After that sale, he moved his stallions and bloodstock to the new property which he and farm manager Bob Cromartie designed. Features of today’s Silverleaf include copper cupolas, stucco walls, and massive paddocks.

Since last year when Hutson announced intentions to sell the farm, he has sold more than 140 horses at dispersals. He still operates a small racing stable.
