If you were unable to access bloodhorse.com or other Web sites in Kentucky early Tuesday, the problem was not at your end. Service was lost about midnight Monday and not restored until about 1:00 p.m. Tuesday due to weather-related problems in Indiana, according to Mike Gallenstein, director of network operations at The Blood-Horse Inc.
"Our Internet connection provider informed us that there was some heavy icing in the Indiana area," Gallenstein said. "This weather caused a fiber-optic cut, interrupting service connection to the Internet. The cut was so severe that our backup connection was also disabled. To make matters worse crews could not repair the problem until electric power was shut off and they could gain access to the damaged area. We will continue to monitor connectivity but at this point, it appears that all systems and services are operating normally."
