Sarah Lane's Oates Retired; Booked to Point Given

Louisiana champion Sarah Lane's Oates, a 15-time stakes winner, has been retired from racing and is booked to Horse of the Year Point Given. The 8-year-old daughter of turf champion Sunshine Forever finished in a deadheat for sixth in the March 25 restricted Red Camelia Handicap at Fair Grounds. She had won the grass stakes three previous times. In her only other start this year, Sarah Lane's Oates finished fifth in the Sixty Sails Handicap at Fair Grounds.
Sarah Lane's Oates, a homebred for Dr. Glen Warren who was produced from the Mogambo mare Glitzi Bj, started 77 times. She won 21 races, placed in 11 stakes, and earned $888,296.
