Gary and Mary West's Donn Handicap (gr. I) winner Mongoose drilled five furlongs Sunday morning at Payson Park after which trainer James Bond said the son of Broad Brush is definite for Saturday's 1 1/4-mile Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. I).

Mongosse was timed in 1:01 4/5 for the work.

"This morning's work was a good one for him." Bond said. "He galloped out three-quarters in 1:15 and hopefully he'll give a good account of himself on Saturday. Edgar Prado will ride."

David Bailey, Gulfstream Park's racing secretary, assigned Mongoose 115 pounds for the race, two less than co-highweights Red Bullet and Sir Bear.

Others probable for the race, with weights, are Hal's Hope (113 pounds) and Saint Damien (110).
