Bold World earned her fourth career stakes win and her second of this working week when she pulled away in the stretch to beat Miss Dixie Chick by 6 1/2 lengths Friday in the $78,750 Charon Stakes for 3-year-old Florida-bred fillies at Gulfstream Park. Ridden by Jorge Chavez and owned by Hardacre Farms, Bold World ran seven furlongs in 1:23.78 on a fast track and paid $2.40 and $2.10 as the 1-5 favorite. On Monday, Bold World won the $50,000 Ocala Breeders' Sales Sprint by 10 1/2 lengths.

Miss Dixie Chick paid $2.10 to place. Afnan and Awol completed the order of finish. Because there were only four entrants, there was no show betting.

Prior to her two stakes wins this week, the Ronald Taylor trainee won the Dame Mysterieuse Stakes earlier in the Gulfstream meet and the Susan's Girl division of the Florida Stallion Stakes series last year. She earned $47,250 for the win, her fourth in seven starts. Bold World (Fortunate Prospect -- Worldly Bold, by World Appeal) was bred by Farnsworth Farms.

Bold World won her two stakes races this week by a combined margin of 16 3/4 lengths and earned $77,250. (Chart, Equibase)
