Rockin Jojo First Winner for Street Magician

Rockin Jojo steadily wore down the front-runner in a sustained drive and won the third race at Parx Racing Aug. 30 to become the first winner for his Maryland-based sire Street Magician   (VIDEO).
 
Ridden by David Cora for trainer T. Bernard Houghton, Rockin Jojo won by a neck and covered five furlongs in :58.79 on a fast track. Michael R. Cox owns the chestnut filly, who was bred in Pennsylvania by David Miller and Skymarc Farm from the Palmister mare Chiqueada, a half sister to European champion sprinter Nuclear Debate
 
Street Magician, a 10-year-old son of Street Cry  --Magical Meadow, by Meadowlake, stood in 2014 for a $3,000 fee at Heritage Stallions near Chesapeake City, Md. He has 38 2-year-olds in his first crop. 
 
Street Magician won half of his 10 starts, including the 2007 Hirsch Jacobs Stakes (gr. III) at Pimlico Race Course. He set a Presque Isle Downs track record of 1:02.34 for 5 1/2 furlongs in capturing the 2009 Karl Boyes Memorial Northwestern PA Stakes by 2 3/4 lengths on the all-weather main track.
