Bullish Miss, runner-up in both the Orinda and Richmond Handicaps, will try to shake the bridesmaid role Saturday at Golden Gate Fields when she faces seven rivals in the Soviet Problem Handicap.
The Soviet Problem is a six-furlong contest for fillies and mares. Bullish Miss will be the starting highweight at 117 pounds and she'll be ridden by Russell Baze.
Bullish Miss was beaten only a length by Above Perfection in the Orinda Handicap on Jan. 21 and missed by just three-quarters of a length to multiple stakes winner Hall of Gold in the Richmond on Feb. 16. Both races were six-furlong events.
The field for the Soviet Problem Handicap includes: Selector (Ron Warren, Jr., 115); Da Vinna (Jason Lumpkins, 114); Gifted Daughter (Jose Ariaga, 116); Bullish Miss (Baze, 117); Roullette (Dave Wilson, 113); Francee Bargain (Frank Alvarado, 116); and Madame Pietra (Joey Castro, 116).
