Arc Winner Rail Link Relocated to France

Khalid Abdullah's 2006 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I) winner Rail Link has been sold to Haras de Cercy in France.

Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms operation has retained 5 lifetime breeding rights to the son of Dansili—Docklands, by Theatrical. From four crops racing, the 11-year-old stallion has sired 60% winners to starters to date, Juddmonte said in announcing the sale Aug. 26.

Rail Link's top offspring include group winners Bugie d'Amore, Last Train, Sediciosa, and exciting Australian-based colt Spillway, who was beaten a nose in a group II Aug. 16 race at Caulfield. Other notable progeny include the 2012 Derby Italiano (gr. I) runner-up Wild Wolf, talented 3-year-old sprinter Fast Track, and the smart stayer Brass Ring.

"Haras de Cercy also stands Day Flight and Coastal Path, bred by Juddmonte Farms," Juddmonte general manager Philip Mitchell said. "We are therefore delighted that Rail Link will be going to Haras de Cercy and will now have an excellent opportunity to continue a successful career at stud under the very experienced and much-respected Jacques Cypres."

Rail Link scored a neck victory over Pride in the 2006 Arc to cap a five-race win streak that also included the Grand Prix de Paris (Fr-I), Prix Niel (Fr-II) and Prix du Lys (Fr-II) for trainer Andre Fabre. Racing only at age 3, he retired with at 5-1-0 record from seven career starts and more than $1.9 million in earnings.

His dam has produced eight winners, including group-winning half siblings Crossharbour, Mainsail, and Chelsea Manor
