Trainer Carl Nfazger reports all is well with his two stakes-winning 3-year-old fillies, Belterra and Take the Cake, and revealed his future plans for the pair.
"Belterra came out of the Bonnie Miss (gr. II) in great shape and I've already shipped her to Kentucky where she will run next in the Ashland Stakes (gr. I) at Keeneland," he said. "I worked Take the Cake five furlongs on Monday and it was an excellent workout. She went in 1:00, breezing (best of 35 horses working that distance). She'll make her next start in Kentucky, in the Bourbonette Stakes at Turfway Park."
John Tafel's Belterra had her three-race unbeaten streak shattered when she finished third as the 7-10 favorite in the Bonnie Miss Stakes at Gulfstream on March 15. Take The Cake won the Forward Gal Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream then was fifth in the Davona Dale Stakes (gr. II) in her last start on Feb. 24.
