Daniel Eidson has been appointed stakes coordinator and assistant racing secretary at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, Calif. The track opens in late April.

Eidson, 51, served as racing secretary for five years at Golden Gate Fields before he took the same job at Delaware Park in 2000.

"Dan will be a big asset to Martin Panza and the racing department," Hollywood Park president Rick Baedeker said. "He not only has strong ties in Northern California, he has established a good relationship with many East Coast trainers since leaving California."

Eidson, a native of Palo Alto, Calif., has worked for trainer Bobby Frankel and was assistant trainer to Eddie Gregson for nine years. Eidson eventually took out his trainer's license and started a public stable in Northern California.
