The 2014 Emperors Palace National 2-year-old sale will be held over three days, from Aug. 13-15, at the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (TBA) Complex at Gosforth Park in South Africa.
The sale, one of South Africa's leading producers of high-quality Thoroughbreds, will gets under way at 10:30 a.m. local time each day.
The sale has a long history of producing top-class racehorses at a range of prices.
Recent graduates of this sale include the likes of J J The Jet Plane (cost R70,000) earned over R26 million; The Apache (cost R80,000) earned over R18 million Jackson (cost R1 million) earned R2.3 million; and Tribal Dance (cost R40,000) earned R870,000.
Other elite performers sold at the National 2-year-old sale include J&B Met (SAf-I) winner River Jetez, international superstar Irridescence, champion 2-year-old fillies Asylum Seeker and Rock Opera, and group I winners as Talahatchie and Zaitoon among others.
The 2014 catalog looks to have plenty of depth to it, with the majority of South Africa's top breeders will be represented at this sale.
South Africa's top sires with offspring cataloged include Captain Al (4), Dynasty (7), Fort Wood (2), Judpot (8), Kahal (3), Silvano (10), Trippi (8), Var (5) and Western Winter (5).
Sensational first crop sires Elusive Fort (6), Ideal World (19), Lateral (15), Mambo In Seattle (24), and Seventh Rock (3) also have exciting drafts on offer at the 2014 Emperors Palace National 2-year-old sale.
Sires represented by their first 2-year-olds at the sale include Bankable (2), Biarritz (3), Blue Tiger (1), Don Pedro Mandoza (13), Great Britain (6), Just As Well (2), King's Chapel (3), Noordhoek Flyer (28), Querari (6), Rock Of Rochelle (6), Russian Sage (13), Visionaire (1) and Warm White Night (7).
There are also a number of stakes-winning mares with offspring to be offered.
