Graded stakes winner Liberty Gold has been retired from racing and will stand on behalf of a syndicate at Ron and Nina Hagen's El Dorado Farms near Enumclaw, Wash. His fee is $2,000.

Bred by Michael Riordan and Carl Icahn's Foxfield Thoroughbreds, 8-year-old Liberty Gold won 10 of 44 starts and earned $598,963 while racing his entire career for John Peace. Liberty Gold (Crafty Prospector--Restless Colony, by Pleasant Colony) captured the 2001 Aqueduct Handicap (gr. III) and equaled a track record of 1:28.80 for 7 1/2 furlongs at Churchill Downs the previous year. He also placed in six stakes.
