The first Internet auction at Keeneland will have three sessions—Sept. 16, 20, and 25—for horses that fail to bring their reserve prices during the September yearling sale. Each session will begin at 8 a.m. and close in intervals beginning at 4 p.m. on the auction date.

Buyers can register for the sale beginning Sept. 1. Buyers must register at least two days prior to each session date to ensure credit approval and to get a password. Anyone pre-approved for credit at live sales doesn’t have to reapply.

During the sale, consignors will be able to view four photos of each horse—front, rear, left side, and right side. Internet activities will emulate the live auction process as much as possible. A seminar for buyers will be held Sept. 8 at 3:30 p.m. at the Keeneland sale pavilion.
