Bedford Land, a winning 2-year-old filly out of grade I winner Pool Land, surpassed the $1 million mark at the Fasig-Tipton summer selected horses of racing age sale Monday, July 14 in Lexington.

Chris Baker signed the ticket for Three Chimneys Farm, agent, landing the Speightstown   filly for $1,075,000.

Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, as part of the Melnyk Racing Stables dispersal, Bedford Land was the first seven-figure horse at any of Monday's sessions that began with the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July yearling sale and was followed by a short dispersal of Melnyk broodmares and weanlings.

Bedford Land won her career debut in a 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race June 22 at Churchill Downs. Mark Casse saddled her that day.
