Shedrow Cocktails became the first reported winner for Louisiana stallion Orthodox when the 2-year-old captured a maiden event by four lengths the evening of July 12 at Evangeline Downs.

Colby Hernandez was aboard Merrill Scherer's Shedrow Cocktails, who won gate-to-wire in the $20,000 claiming test while clocking a :59.32 for five furlongs over a muddy, sealed track. Lora Pitre and Jack Baumburg bred the chestnut gelding in Louisiana out of the Eddington   mare Edacious Reality.

In 2014, Orthodox stood for $1,000 at Pitre's Peach Lane Farms in Opelousas, LA.

A Kentucky-bred son of Pulpit out of the graded stakes winner Dominique's Joy, by Strawberry Road, Orthodox won the 2009 American Turf Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Churchill Downs.
