Longtime New York trainer Dennis Brida has been hired as the executive director of the New York Thoroughbred Breeders Inc.
Brida replaces Michael Flynn who accepted a similar position in Maryland in January. Brida, 53, has been a trainer for 22 years in New York and active with the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association. He was a member of the NYTHA board for six years, was the president for three years, and is currently the first vice president.
Brida said he is the process of dispersing his stable, moving clients to other trainers, and he will begin his duties with the NYTB in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on April 15.
"Saratoga has always been my dream place to live. I'd like to do that," Brida said.
