Arkansas owner and breeder Irene Udouj died March 13. She was 83 and had battled a heart problem in recent years.

Udouj and her husband, the late Herman Udouj, operated Sundridge Farm at Lavaca, near Ft. Smith. They raced horses such as Barbizon Streak, Suzi Sunshine, and Silver Hope.

The family founded the Riverside Furniture Corporation in the late 1940s. "Her husband died almost five years ago and she never really got over that," said Mrs. Ronnie Udouj, a daughter-in-law.

She is survived by five children and six grandchildren.
