Swale Draws Five Sprinters

A field of five will contest the seven-furlong, $150,000 Swale Stakes on the Florida Derby undercard at Gulfstream Park Saturday. Listen Here, winner of the one mile Nashua Stakes (gr. III) at Belmont Park, is the lone stakes winner in the field and thus will be the highweight at 120 pounds.

The son of Gulch suffered his first loss in the Remsen Stakes (gr. II at Aqueduct, and will going to the post for the first time in four months for trainer Bill Mott. He will have to deal with once-defeated Ethan Man, the 'now' horse coming off a six-length score in a Gulfstream allowance tilt.
The Patrick Byrne-trained son of Glitterman broke his maiden at first asking at Churchill Downs last fall. He has been firing bullets in the morning prepping for the Swale.
