X-rays taken of Pleasant Breeze following his 2 3/4-length win in Sunday's Saratoga Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) showed no signs of a fracture, according to trainer H. James Bond."The X-rays came back negative," Bond said. "He may have wrenched himself. I'm still not sure what happened, but we are sure that it happened on the way back."After the race jockey Jorge Chavez noticed something amiss with the gelding. "When we came back galloping nice and easy, I felt he was missing a step," Chavez said after the race. "He seemed to be favoring his left front."Bond accompanied Pleasant Breeze to the barn in the horse ambulance."Right now he's resting," Bond said. "He's being treated with medication to ease the pain. The bottom line is that I'm more encouraged now than I was thirty minutes ago." (More, Race Recap)
