Champion sprinter Trinniberg   will shuttle to Haras Ponta Pora in Brazil for Southern Hemisphere stud duties later this year, Lere Visagie's Rockridge Stud announced May 19.

Trinniberg is standing his first season at the Hudson, N.Y. farm, where his fee is $7,500. His Southern Hemisphere fee has not yet been announced.

"A horse of this caliber absolutely warrants interest from South American stud farms," Visagie said in a release. "We want to give the horse the best chance possible to succeed, and dual-hemisphere breeding will certainly give him that added chance."

"Haras Ponta Pora has been one of the major producers of speed in Brazil. Mr. Camil and Mr. Charlie, owners of the farm, are excited with the speed and class of Trinniberg," added Ricardo Colombo, the agent who brokered the deal.

Trinniberg is a son of Teuflesberg  , out of the winning, stakes-placed Goldminer's Gold mare Bella Dorato.

Trained by Bisnath Parboo for Sherry Parbhoo, Trinniberg won or placed in 10 of 18 starts and earned $1,553,086. He found his best stride during his 3-year-old campaign, when he captured the Xpressbet Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I), Woody Stephens Stakes (gr. II), Bay Shore Stakes (gr. II), and Swale Stakes (gr. III), en route to earning an Eclipse Award as that year's top sprinter.

Trinniberg was bred in Kentucky by J M Stables.
