The winds which swept through the eastern half of the United States over the weekend left behind a casualty at Penn National Race Course--the infield tote board. Wind gusts recorded in the area came close to 60 m.p.h.

The wood and cinder block tote board contained more than 8,000 light bulbs, plus the track's timing system. A temporary timer should be in place in time for Wednesday night's live race card.

Track president Richard Schnaars said he doesn't know when a new tote board will be functional, but racing shouldn't be affected by the loss.
