Colts Stand Out at Second F-T Midlantic Show

Colts by Kodiak Kowboy   and Elusive Quality   clocked the overall fastest breeze time for one furlong May 15 during the second and final under tack show for next week's Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale.
 
Each colt is consigned by Crane Thoroughbreds, agent. Both bettered the previous day's fastest time of :10 1/5 for an eighth of a mile breeze when clocking the distance in :10 flat.
 
Hip No. 292, a bay colt by Kodiak Kowboy, named Kowboy Nowboy, is out of the Demaloot Demashoot mare Leading Role, who was twice grade III-placed and who has produced three winners from as many starters. His second dam is stakes winner Support the Arts. The family includes 11-time stakes winner Wander Kind, grade I-placed Facts of Love, and Panamanian Horse of the Year Just Approval. 
 
Hip No. 343, a dark bay or brown colt by Elusive Quality, named Shining Steel, was produced by the winning Capote mare Miss Cap, who has four winners from five to start. Second dam is grade III-placed Deputy Miss. Other notable family members include English highweighted 2-year-old and group I winner Take Your Place and elite turf mare Drumtop. 
 
The Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale will be held over two days, May 19-20, starting at 10 a.m. EDT daily at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md.
